Lyndon Trott

Lyndon served a four year term as Guernsey's Chancellor (2004 - 2008) and progressed to become the jurisdiction's youngest and longest serving Chief Minister to date (2008 - 2012). Following a voluntary period on the back benches and a change to Guernsey's Government structure in May of this year, Lyndon has returned to frontline politics and was elected to serve for a four year term as Guernsey's Deputy Chief Minister, with particular responsibility for international, business and regulatory affairs. A former chairman of a substantial pension fund, Lyndon is also a professional, independent non executive director. He is currently on the board of a leading Guernsey based fiduciary company and also one of the world's largest independent private equity and real estate fund administrators. In addition he is a non executive director of an AIM quoted private equity fund and closed ended, unlisted, private equity structures and several other entities specialising in the investment sector. Lyndon is a graduate of the Institute of Directors company direction programme and is currently Chairman of the board of Guernsey Finance LBG, which is the organisation responsible for promoting Guernsey as an international finance centre.

Rupert moved to Guernsey as a boy and was educated in the island. His career in financial services has taken him globally, beginning in London, and on to Hong Kong, Asia, South Africa and Switzerland, before returning to Guernsey. His background is in private banking and trust and corporate services, where he has held a number of senior management roles in global companies. As well as an MBA from the University of Cape Town, Rupert holds a law degree, and is a member of STEP, CISI and the Institute of Directors.

Michael Betley

Michael Betley is Group Chairman of Trust Corporation International. He has worked in London and Guernsey, and was a private client partner of a London law firm before establishing Trust Corporation. Whilst in private practice, Michael was noted as being a leading local presence in The Legal 500. He has acted as an Executive and Non Executive Director of regulated businesses and is a Chartered Director (awarded by the Institute of Directors). Michael is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales, the International Tax Planning Association, Institute of Directors, Guernsey International Legal Association and Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (recent past Chairman of the Guernsey Branch and one of only a few to receive the Founder’s Award for services to the Society). Michael took over the role as Chairman of the Guernsey Association of Trustees (GAT) in March 2012 having acted as Deputy Chairman since 2008. As part of that role he is also involved with the Guernsey International Business Association and Finance Sector Group which gives him insight to the workings of local government and the regulator. Michael is Chairman of the Group and retains primary responsibility for a number of client relationships. He is featured in Citywealth’s Top 20 Leading International Trustees.

Steve Wakelin

Steve joined the States of Guernsey as Head of International Relations in June 2011. He was appointed Chief Strategy & Policy Officer in May 2016, and also became Chief Secretary to the Committee for Economic Development in December 2017. Steve joined the board of Guernsey Finance in summer 2016, and also served as chairman of the board of the Channel Islands Brussels Office. Prior to joining the States of Guernsey, Steve was the UK Managing Director of a public affairs consultancy in London.

Charles Parkinson

Charles Parkinson read Law at Cambridge, and then qualified as a Chartered Accountant with what is now KPMG in London. After a period working as a Corporate Finance Executive with Morgan Grenfell, he was called to the Bar in London, and then returned to his childhood home in Guernsey. He opened a Guernsey Office for accountants PKF, and established Praxis, which is now one of the largest independent fiduciary groups based on Guernsey. He has held or holds a number of non-executive directorships, at companies including Rothschild Asset Management (CI) Ltd, M&G Income Investment Company Ltd, and Burford Capital Ltd, currently Guernsey’s largest company by market capitalisation. His board experience includes banking subsidiaries, insurance companies and investment funds. He was elected a Deputy in the States of Guernsey in 2004, and now serves as President of the Committee for Economic Development. He is a past Minister of Treasury & Resources.

Tony is a Tax Partner at KPMG in Guernsey. He was appointed Chair of the Guernsey International Business Association in April 2019 having been its Deputy Chair for the previous two years. Tony joined the Board of Guernsey Finance in April 2019.

Marie McNeela

Managing Director, Intertrust Group Guernsey

Marie McNeela is Managing Director of Intertrust Group Guernsey with overall responsibility for their Fund, Corporate and Private Wealth client solutions. She has worked in London, Grand Cayman and Guernsey. Marie acts as both an Executive and Non-Executive Director of regulated businesses and numerous client companies. She is a qualified Trust & Estate Practitioner (STEP) and holds the Institute of Directors Diploma in Company Direction (Dip IOD). Marie has spoken at various conferences and is a former committee member of both the Guernsey Association of Trustees and the Institute of Directors. Marie joined the Board of Guernsey Finance in April 2020.
