Alasdair McLaren

Head of Private Wealth, Guernsey

Alasdair is head of private wealth at IQ-EQ in Guernsey and has worked in the fiduciary and private wealth industry for 30 years.

His particular focus is on UHNW multi-jurisdictional families with complex affairs and he works closely with a number of both multi and single family offices

Alasdair is the immediate past chair of the STEP Guernsey branch and was until recently the Guernsey representative on STEP council. He is currently one of the presiding judges for the STEP PCA awards and is also a longstanding committee member of the Guernsey Association of Trustees.

He has an MA in economics, is a Chartered Accountant, a member of STEP and a Chartered Fellow of the Securities Institute.

Anthony Holt

Managing Director

Anthony is Managing Director of Albany Trustee Company Limited, an independent owner managed provider of fiduciary and administrative services with client family relationships stretching back nearly five decades.

After graduating from Oxford University, he was with the Financing and Structured Products Division of J. Henry Schroder & Co. Limited and has, since 2002, focused on offshore financial administration which includes a number of ultra-high-net-worth family-office-related structures.

Anthony is an associate member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers, professional NED and sits on the boards of various asset holding and trading companies.

Catherine Grum TEP

Head of Family Office Services

Catherine Grum advises enterprising families on family office creation, governance and philanthropy. She also leads KPMG UK’s centre of excellence for family offices, which supports stand-alone Family Offices, those that are embedded within a broader family business and those families thinking about creating a family office for the first time.

Catherine has always worked with families and family offices of various shapes and sizes and brings with her an extremely broad perspective and natural ability as a problem-solver. Prior to KPMG, Catherine established the Private Office for Salamanca Group and was responsible for trust, real estate and lifestyle services. Before this she was Head of Wealth Advisory (EMEA) for Barclays Wealth & Investment Management, leading the delivery of wealth structuring, succession planning and relocation solutions to the bank’s UHNW client base. She began her career as a private client lawyer with Allen & Overy.

She is a recognised figure in the Private Wealth community and has received multiple awards including STEP Young Practitioner of the Year, Private Asset Management Top 40 under 40 and Private Client Practitioner Top 35 under 35.

Clare Stirzaker

Partner, Solicitor and Family Governance specialist

Clare is a Partner and practicing solicitor at PwC, and has worked with families for over 10 years. She has won several private client and family business awards.

Clare has developed an award-winning family business offering, which aims to support families fully as they go through moments of change. She has supported some of the world’s best business and family offices to develop the right family ownership framework and structure, which best achieves their objectives.

Understanding the stories behind some of the most successful family business in the world and connecting with the families at the centre of the tale has always driven and inspired Clare.

Rajah Abusrewil

Partner

Rajah joined Walkers' Guernsey office in 2019 where she is a Partner in the Private Capital and Trusts Group and advises on all aspects of wealth structuring.

Rajah specialises in advising a wide range of local and international fiduciaries, family offices and UHNWIs on the establishment, administration and termination of trusts, foundations, family offices and related structures. She also advises on the regulatory requirements of the Guernsey Financial Services Commission.

Prior to joining Walkers in 2019, Rajah was a Partner in a Guernsey law firm, having also previously been a multi-jurisdictional in-house counsel for an international trust company and practiced as a Barrister & Attorney.
