Guernsey Funds Forum 2019
CELEBRATE THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY WITH US...
The Guernsey Funds Forum takes place for 10th time in May. It regularly attracts some 500 people to learn more about the issues facing funds globally and Guernsey's longstanding role in the industry.
This year on Thursday 16 May we will again host a half-day of thought leadership discussion and debate on the current trends in the market.
Some people come back to the Guernsey Funds Forum year after year. Two leading figures who spoke at the first event in 2010 explain why...
Jon has been a speaker at the Guernsey Funds Forum three times and has attended others as a delegate.
"I’ve attended the Guernsey Funds Forum several times over its life and it gets better and better. Guernsey shows itself to be on the ball about the latest issues in the industry with topical themes that are up to date with changes in the sector. This is an important event for anyone who works in funds to keep at the forefront of industry developments, and to network with industry participants. Guernsey is high in competence and has sensible regulation, high flexibility, and a comprehensive set of relevant skills and human resources."
This year Bridget is part of a panel session discussing the structuring of private capital. She was also on the panel at the first Guernsey Funds Forum and has attended many times since.
"For me, the most attractive aspect is the quality of speakers. It is important to have people who have strong views that the audience wants to hear. There have been a big developments in the funds industry since the Guernsey Funds Forum began, such as AIFMD, MiFID II, AML plus substance and Brexit issues. The event covers the hot topics, ensuring Guernsey places itself in the centre of these discussions, but sets itself in the context of changes in the wider funds world.
"With the significant development in green funds, I would recommend wealth managers who are looking at impact investing to attend to hear from Dr Andy Sloan. The discussions around fund structures for private clients and family offices will be useful for high net worth investors and their advisers to hear.
"Guernsey is a solid, stable jurisdiction that is looking to maintain its standards to compete in an increasingly competitive world. It’s very useful to hear what Guernsey is thinking about for the future."
