Guernsey Private Wealth Forum 2019
25 November 2019 - London
2:00PM - 5:30PM
Substance, stability and sustainability
As we prepare to move into a new decade and against the backdrop of a progressively uncertain globe, the values of substance, stability and sustainability move increasingly to the fore for the servicing of global private wealth. Reputational issues have become so significant that they are the determining factor of locational choice driving moves on regulation and transparency unimagined just a decade ago.
Through the channelling of private capital into sustainable investments, including climate finance, stewarding private wealth can increasingly become a key force for global good. Levering its traditional strength, Guernsey has in recent years been able to play a full part in the drive to deliver a more sustainable future and has been very much at the forefront of the global movement on climate change.
The 2019 Guernsey Private Wealth Forum will provide a confidential forum for a topical discussion of these issues, their relevance and particularly their impact on family offices, their advisors and other professionals.
Our guest speaker is prominent economist, financial sector expert and development practitioner Sony Kapoor. His career spans investment banking, civil society, academia and policymaking across several countries. As part of his work, Mr Kapoor advises several EU and emerging economy governments, central banks, regulators and investors on financial policy and investment strategy. He will participate in a ‘fireside chat’ with well-known television presenter Daisy McAndrew, who is acting as moderator.
She will be joined later by Paul Hodgson of the Guernsey Association of Trustees, James Quarmby of Stephenson Harwood, Guernsey lawyer Jessica Roland of Mourant (future Deputy Bailiff of the Bailiwick of Guernsey), Maila Schaerer of Julius Baer and Sophie Ward of HSBC Private Banking for a relaxed chat seeking to tease out the key impacts and relevance of substance, stability and sustainability to the stewardship of private wealth whilst drawing out the story behind some of Guernsey’s strategic developments of 2019 and its pivot to the servicing of private wealth.
The event will be held at the Banking Hall in London during the afternoon of Monday 25 November.
Due to popular demand, registration for this event is now full and closed.
