Guernsey Captive Briefing
03 June 2020 - Online
10:00AM - 11:00AM
A hardening insurance market has reignited demand for captive insurance as risk managers seek to mitigate rising premiums and coverage restrictions.
This has been further exacerbated by COVID-19 which is causing a rethink in the insurance markets with regard to some classes of business and generating a new set of issues for risk managers. At the same time the environment for and practice of captive insurance is evolving in the face of changing standards in regulation and tax regimes, and in a world being reshaped by Brexit and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Guernsey, as Europe’s leading centre for captive insurance, is responsible for more than a third of the European captives market, and has an unrivalled record in meeting the risk financing needs of captive owners from all around the world, from all industries, and from public, private and third sectors.
Nowhere matches Guernsey’s unique combination of expertise, experience, market proximity and regulatory environment for captives which as why the island has been at the centre of previous developments responding to issues such as capacity shortages in the energy and financial risk markets in the ‘90s, the hard property and terrorism market and constrained capacity for PI in the 00s, and, more recently, emerging risks such as Cyber, and key economic risks such as pension longevity.
Hear about how the captive industry is innovating in response to a fast-changing world, and about Guernsey’s strengths in the market, at our webinar from a panel of speakers with wide experience of international corporate insurance and the captives industry.
