Sustainable Finance Week - Day 1
08 June 2021 - St Pierre Park
Guernsey Green Finance is pleased to present our second Sustainable Finance Week in June 2021. With a mixture of physical events in Guernsey, and international webinars, we will be sharing key learnings from Guernsey, and practices showcasing the mobilising of private capital to sustainable causes.
In the lead up to COP26 in Glasgow in November, mobilising private finance has been identified as a key driver for achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement. Our event speakers will discuss all the relevant topics and latest updates in the field of green and sustainable finance in the run up to COP26.
One of the discussions in #GYSFW20 was around the idea of whether or not it would be billionaires who saved the planet, rather than purely from government funding.
Private capital and government funding are both crucial for the future of climate finance, with a need for public policy to engage industries with net zero ambitions and targets. A London-based panel of policy experts will discuss the key drivers in public policy, future regulations around sustainability, and in relation to sustainable portfolios, the decision-making process and impact of reporting and measurement requirements.
Our New York and Guernsey panels will look at how private equity and specifically structuring within PE can mobilise capital towards sustainable practices.
