Opportunities for capital in a disrupted reinsurance market

Reinsurers, capital providers, brokers, consultants and advisors are invited to join us at the Reinsurance Masterclass in London, part of the Guernsey Finance ILS Insight series.

This event will highlight the latest developments and challenges in the world of reinsurance, the opportunities for capital in a disrupted reinsurance market, and how Guernsey is perfectly placed to deliver solutions in a capital constrained world.

Guernsey is celebrating 25 years since it became the first domicile in the World to enshrine the concept of the protected cell company in Law, legislation which has been replicated in over 40 domiciles globally since that time, including most notably the City of London. The Island is home to a number of high profile transactions including, in recent years, the reinsurance of the Lloyd's of London Central Fund and in 2023 the reinsurance of RiverStone International's $305 million multi-year excess of loss reinsurance. The island is recognised as a global centre of substance, with a proven and respected regulatory environment.

Featuring two panel discussions, the first - Unpacking Cyber Risk - looks at what cyber risk is and examines how vulnerable companies are to it. Panellists will look at current market appetite for cyber from reinsurers and investors and what new risk opportunities may be over the horizon.

The second panel - Opportunities for Capital in a Disrupted Reinsurance Market - examines the macro economic environment and its impact on the Reinsurance market, why companies are looking for capital support via reinsurance, opportunities for MGAs and what we can expect the market to look like 3-5 years from now.
