Butterfield Trust (Guernsey) Limited Managing Director Paul Hodgson has been recognised as Private Client Trust & Advisory Professional of the Year at the Who’s Who Legal Awards.
That came in addition to Butterfield Trust being crown Private Client Trust and Advisory Firm of the Year.
In offering his congratulations for winning "notable" awards, Butterfield Executive Vice President & Head of Group Trust Bob Moore said: “Butterfield has been a leader in the provision of offshore trust and fiduciary services for more than 80 years. Our trust services continue to serve as a foundation of our business and play a significant role in developing the bespoke financial solutions we offer to our international clients.
“The Who’s Who Legal Awards are a testament to the team’s expertise, flexibility and commitment to service, and build on Butterfield’s recent accolades.”
Butterfield was also named Trust Company of the Year (Guernsey) in the CityWealth International Financial Centre Awards in January and Trust Company of the Year by the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners in November 2018.
Further on-island success came for law firm Carey Olsen, which was named Guernsey Firm of the Year for the fourth consecutive time. Its recognition was based on detailed industry research and feedback from clients and other legal professions around the world.
Carey Olsen Guernsey Managing Partner Russell Clark said the accolade was a major endorsement of the expertise that exists across the firm’s practice areas and the high level of work undertaken in the Guernsey office.
“As always, we would also like to thank our clients and intermediaries for their support and the feedback they provided as part of the Who's Who Legal research process,” he added.
The awards celebrate the achievements of leading law firms, advisory service providers and individual thought leaders from across the globe. The ceremony took place at Gibson Hall in London.
