Carey Olsen advises Peel Hunt on London listing

05 October 2021

A leading UK mid and small-cap focused investment bank has achieved its initial public offering (IPO) on the London Stock Exchange (LSE), with assistance from expertise in Guernsey.

Carey Olsen’s corporate team in the island advised on the Guernsey legal and regulatory aspects for Peel Hunt’s admission.

Listed on the AIM market of the LSE, the IPO has raised gross proceeds of £112 million, which values the investment bank at £280 million. Peel Hunt will use the listing to support its continued growth plans, which includes establishing offices in Europe and investing in new technology.

Peel Hunt  operates across three segments: investment banking, research & distribution, and execution & trading. At the end of August 2021, it had 157 corporate clients with an average market capitalisation of approximately £775 million.

Partner David Crosland, who led the Carey Olsen team, said: “Its London listing has attracted a positive reception, with strong support from institutional investors as well as retail investors, which speaks volumes for the firm's reputation in the market.”
